Chamber music – 2006 to 2008
Hugh performed (with Michael D'Arcy, Elena Quinn, John Lynch and William Butt) on April 6th 2008 at the National Gallery of Ireland for the Royal Irish Academy of Music's "Trios at 3" series:
Thomas Adès - Piano Quintet Irish première
This followed a performance a year earlier (same series and musicians) of:
Alfred Schnittke - Piano Quintet
and also a performance with the Vanbrugh Quartet for RTÉ's Living Music Festival in 2006 of:
Morton Feldman - Piano and String Quartet.

Concerto recording – released 2009
In 2007, Hugh recorded Ian Wilson's concerto Limena with the Belgrade Strings. This was released on the Riverrun CD “Sullen Earth”during 2009, see Recordings page for reviews.

 

Morton Feldman’s “Triadic Memories” – 2010
In 2010, Hugh gave the Irish première of Morton Feldman’s mammoth solo 1984 work “Triadic Memories” to coincide with the exhibition “Vertical Thoughts: Morton Feldman and the visual arts” at IMMA in Dublin - see Current Reviews.

 

Ian Wilson’s “re:play” recorded – 2010, release 2011
First performed at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival in 2007, Ian Wilson’s chamber work “re:play” was recorded in 2010 by Hugh with the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet and others and will be released by Riverrun in 2011.

 

Raymond Deane’s “Noctuary” – 2011/12
With assistance of a Music Commissions Award from the Arts Council of Ireland, Hugh commissioned Raymond Deane to write a new album of pieces called “Noctuary”. These will be premiered during 2011 and 2012, see Upcoming Events 2011.
